A newly renovated 1,200-seat hotel ballroom required a permanent sound system capable of serving gala dinners, conferences, concerts, and wedding receptions — often back-to-back on the same day.
Engineering Approach
We specified a distributed delay cluster approach to complement the main line arrays, eliminating the echo problem common in high-ceiling ballroom spaces (11 m truss height).
- Main arrays: Alpha A1 × 12 per side
- Delay clusters: Alpha A2 × 6 (centre ceiling, 120 ms delay compensation)
- Subwoofers: Alpha S218 × 6 (in-ground, cardioid)
- Ceiling fills: Alpha P1 × 24 (distributed)
DSP Integration
All processing runs through the Alpha proprietary DSP chain, allowing the venue's AV team to switch between four presets — conference, concert, banquet, film — with a single button press.
